Manny Montes: Bernie or Hillary — an Obama third term
An Obama third term, Bernie or Hillary, will mean our America will be taken further down the road to perdition.
The first an avowed socialist, the other a congenital liar. In either case, both present the smiley face of benevolence which is really the picture of Dorian Gray. They are of the progressive mind set as master potter, placing societal clay, the collective, on their potter’s wheel, and modeling it this way and that.
Unfortunately, masters they are not, and their project will never be finished; individual freedom be damned. Progressives have successfully inverted the principle of our founding, i.e., individual liberty as primary and government power second and subservient.
Bernie and his followers see no danger in his determination to implement the largest peacetime expansion of government in modern American history. His spending-palooza would add a whopping $18 trillion in new spending over the next decade, and push federal spending to at least 30 percent of GDP. This spending-palooza will be on top of a federal debt that has already doubled since 2007. Everybody will have to pay more taxes, but with the devastating impact this will have on the economy, we may not have the money to pay the taxes, thus the house of cards comes tumbling down.
I believe there are enough Americans left, with the sense of life of our founding, that Bernie will not stand a chance at being our next president. He should be campaigning in Venezuela.
The incipient tyrant in Hillary is just as lethal, but her policy discussions are of no consequence; there is more than a prima-facie case for the FBI to recommend an indictment. The FBI has uncovered some 1,340 emails with varying levels of security, and no doubt more to come. The State Department has recently confirmed “Top Secret” and “Special Access Program” (SAP), emails stored on Hillary’s clandestine email server. SAP emails have a higher classification than top secret, and represent grieves harm to our national security, and loss of life, if let fall into the wrong hands. Additionally, the FBI has expanded their investigation into whether there was possible “intersection” of the Clinton Foundation and State Department business. At issue are possible violations of public corruption laws.
There are intuitive answers to the questions of whether Hillary set up her private server for convenience or to shield her communications from oversight and public information requests. Also whether there was pay-to-play shenanigans with the State Department, Clinton Foundation and foreign nations.
Hillary served as Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013. Responses to FOIA requests and Benghazi committee request for information during her tenure never included emails stored on her private server, that is, until August of 2014 when the committee noticed a previously unknown address, email@example.com. Hillary, until then, was getting away with shielding her communications. Well, what do you know, estimated 62,320 emails were sent and received on Clinton’s private email account during her tenure. Later, 31,830 emails were erased from her private server, because Hillary as sole arbiter, deemed personal. The erased emails meant she sent/received more than 20 personal emails a day for four years; uh hah. Did she destroy material under subpoena?
And of Hillary’s concern for security? An advisor informed her there was an issue sending secure information to a secure fax. Hillary responded, “If they can’t, turn into nonpaper [with] no identifying heading and send nonsecure.” Bob Gourley, the chief technology officer at the Defense Intelligence Agency from 2005 to 2008 stated, “I have no doubt in my mind that this thing was penetrated by multiple foreign powers, to assume otherwise is to put blinders on.”
The Clintons write off donations to their Clinton Foundation, the foundation then turns around and pays their personal travel expenses; the foundation as their personal slush fund. The foundation amassed more the $140 million dollars, and Bill’s international speaking fees bonanza has dropped to less than half since Hillary has left the State Department. Is there any wonder why the FBI has expanded their investigation into whether there was possible “intersection” of the Clinton Foundation and State Department business? In fact, The Clinton Foundation’s finances are so messy that the nation’s most influential charity watchdog put it on its “watch list” of problematic nonprofits.
When the FBI recommends indictment, will the DOJ then pick up the ball? If not, it will only prove the DOJ is a mob club house, and lynch the consigliere.

As a 20-year resident of our fine city of Grass Valley, I got a good giggle out of Christian Stewart’s commentary about opposition to mining from a recent emigrant and a rightly concerned community.
