Just Another Day on the Course

Vince McNumara

If you have already had three hole in ones, another is just no big deal. Not the case for Allen Prows. On April 2nd of this year Allen dropped in number four.

Playing with a couple of his regular partners, Larry Seelig and John Dolan, Allen approached the number nine hole we all know well. Scoping the yardage from the blue tees he came up with 156 yards. He then fired a seven iron to about ten feet past the hole and the ball rolled back and into the cup. I don’t know but it was probably a red flag.

Allen is fairly new to Lake Wildwood, having only been a resident for just over a year. He moved here from South San Francisco. He was on the Daly City Police force and played his golf at Richmond Country Club. “Congratulations Allen.”

It is now mid May and the course is looking fantastic. The rain has stopped, the mowers have attacked and the results are stunning. Thank you to Bill Hamilton and his crew. The timing couldn’t be better. The Ladies Invitational is the last week of May and The Men’s Invitational is the following week. As for the men’s tournament, we have a full field, sixty teams. This is always a fun event and each year the committee strives to make things even better. If you have not played this event before, put yourself a little reminder to play in it next year. If you would like to be put on a waiting list for this year, contact the pro shop.

Enjoy the weather, enjoy the course, grab a friend and go out and play.
