Trio performs during poetry reading series
Bill Hotchkiss, Molly Fisk and Susan Herron Sibbet will perform at the Nevada County Poetry Series’ reading on Feb. 21 in Grass Valley.
An open mic will be before and after the featured readings.
Admission is $7 general, $5 for seniors and students, and $1 for anyone under age 18.
The reading moves from the front room of the Center for the Arts to its new Off Center Stage black box theater on the Richardson Street side. The center is at 314 W. Main St.

About 25 area restaurants and 25 California wineries will be part of the second annual Foothills Celebration on Feb. 22 in downtown Grass Valley.
Music in the Mountains and Grass Valley Downtown Association are co-producers.
From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., ticket-holders will enjoy unlimited wine-tasting and four food-tasting samples. Five groups will play bluegrass, country, blues, jazz, Celtic and barbershop music.
Admission is $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Anyone can hear the music, but tickets must be purchased for the food and wine. Tickets are at Music in the Mountains’ box office, Book Seller, Odyssey Books, Pleasant Valley Pharmacy, Mike’s Alta Sierra Market and the Chamber of Commerce in Grass Valley and Nevada City. On Feb. 22, tickets will be at the Center for the Arts and the Old Post Office building.

Former Nevada County resident Reinette Senum returns to Grass Valley from Feb. 22 through March 1 for eight presentations of “Alaska Revisited.”
The presentation includes National Geographic video and personal commentary of Senum’s 1994 solo four-month Alaskan winter crossing along with the story of her uncanny family history.
Presentations are at 7 p.m. nightly at the Center for the Arts, Grass Valley. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Call 470-0816 for more information.
Krisha Das will perform at the Center for the Arts on Feb. 23.
Chanting at yoga centers around the world, Das has made numerous pilgrimages throughout India and studied Buddhist meditation practices with Anagarika Munindra and S.N. Goenka.
