Treats for the troops

Sara Shine, 6, a member of Brownie Troop 154, writes a note to one of the troops serving in Iraq last Tuesday evening. 113 members of the Friends of Nevada County Military gathered at the Grass Valley Veterans Building for their regular monthly packing party. Friends packed 90 care packages for our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Each package contained, among many other items, four pounds of Belly Flops from the Jelly Belly Co. Fred Buhler, Friends founder and president said “The Belly Flops will be a welcome treat for our soldiers. We are very grateful for the generous donation from the Jelly Belly Candy Co.”
