Tony Nicovich

Memorial services for Tony Nicovich of Grass Valley will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Abundant Life Community Church in Grass Valley. The Rev. Sam Floyd will officiate.



Mr. Nicovich died Wednesday, March 27, in Grass Valley. He was 86.




He was born Sept. 13, 1915, in Sacramento and moved to Oakland, where he graduated from high school and attended community college.

He was a veteran of World War II. He worked for PG&E and the University of California at Berkeley as an engineer. Upon retirement, he and his wife moved to Grass Valley.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Nicovich of Grass Valley; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and David Gasch; stepson, Robert Wieczorek; grandchildren Daniel, Sarah and Christopher; sister Dolly Miller; brother, Gene Nicovich; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Marie Henderson.

Memorial contributions may be made through the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
