Well, it was a quite bit more difficult to recognize than our TIMELINES guy thought it would be. The photo? Yes, Grass Valley, looking toward the intersection of School and Neal streets from the Golden Center Freeway. Note the giant sequoia near the NE aforementioned corner that was felled recently. Note the tower of the home on the SE corner of the aforementioned intersection. Only one correct e-mail from Eilene Boothby. Now here’s where the guy goofed: he didn’t record three phone calls and doesn’t remember who or what they guessed. OK, other e-mails from Les Worthington and Carol and Ken Jaynes. Now, today’s photo was taken sometime ago and the business is long gone, but that shouldn’t stop you from guessing. Extra points if you tell what’s there today. When we ran the Indian Medicine Rock on E. Broad, a few weeks ago, I mentioned that the computer had eaten a reply and humbly asked for a rematch. Bill Laird was kind enough to identify himself as the “ghost story guy.” Got our TIMELINES guy off the hook! Thanks Bill. E.mail to: bobwayckoff@sbcglobal.net or PO Box 216, Nevada City CA 95959. All will receive a reply.
