The “obvious” was the old Alpha Hardware building with an immature town Christmas Tree in what became Calanan Park. Joe and Roberta Day, along with their correct answer, gave this bit of intelligence: “Our Christmas Tree was planted by Adelaide Veale and Alton Davies, when they were 7 years old – that’s the Goddess of Liberty float – or the Native Daughter’s!
