Thunderstorms possible at higher elevations

Travelers to and from Truckee and the Reno-Tahoe area are advised that spot thunderstorms could occur this afternoon and evening.

Large clouds stacking up over the high Sierra could cause thunderstorms at the upper elevations again Thursday afternoon and night, according to the National Weather Service in Sacramento. There is no snow forecast for the storms, but they could strike quickly.
