Three days of wet weather expected

Three days of rain are possible starting this afternoon and lasting through Wednesday night as a series of storms move across Nevada County.

The National Weather Service in Sacramento this morning said rain is likely today as the first of several storms moves through the Sierra. Chances for rain will decrease to 30 percent tonight and Tuesday, with rain likely Tuesday night.

Another storm will bring a 50 to 40 percent chance of rain Wednesday through Wednesday night. Skies are expected to be cloudy Thursday, with another chance for rain Friday.

Highs will be in the 50s Monday through Thursday, rising into the low 60s Friday. Lows will be in the mid-40s through Friday.

Mild winds are expected to pick up tonight with gusts around 20 miles per hour Tuesday and Wednesday.. Snow may accumulate on mountain passes but is not expected to fall below 6,500 feet
