Things may get hot at second Erotique reading

The second annual Valentine Erotique reading of erotic poetry and prose will be Friday at North Columbia Schoolhouse Cultural Center.

A few surprise guests are expected besides scheduled readers Moses Jones, Pam Houston, Jeff Kane, Sean Kerrigan, Scott McLean and emcee Molly Fisk.

A Valentine’s art show opens Friday in conjunction with the reading. It will be up through mid-March at the Schoolhouse.

The exhibit includes works by Menlo MacFarlane, Linda Pearson, Jacquie Bellon, Liz Collins, Cynthia Scarlett, Sunshine Brown, Karen Hinrichs, Shelly North Gerson, Mary Street, Jenny Long, William Crosby, Jennifer Rain and Molly Good.

Friday’s reading, which begins at 7:30 p.m., is not recommended for children.

Admission is $5 for Schoolhouse members and $7 for nonmembers. Refreshments include rich chocolate desserts and wine.

Azriel Getz, the Schoolhouse’s executive director, promises the erotic raffle has an assortment of prizes certain to make even the most brazen audience members blush.

The Schoolhouse is at 17894 Tyler Foote Crossing Road on San Juan Ridge.
