Theodore Sather

Theodore J. “Ted” Sather died Sept. 1 at Golden Empire Convalescent Hospital in Grass Valley, with his family by his side. He was 72.

A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at the United Methodist Church, 433 Broad St., Nevada City, Calif., with a reception to follow in the fellowship hall.

He was born Dec. 26, 1937, in Seattle, Wash., to Elmer T. Sather and Jane I. Pelham Sather. He attended Central Kitsap High School, Olympic College, and served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1960 through 1964.

Mr. Sather worked for United Airlines for 33 years. He was a past member of Sonoma County Woodworkers’ Association and Sonoma County Astronomical Society.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Patrick (Dianna) Sather and granddaughters, Deanndra and Audra, all of Cloverdale, Calif.; and brothers, Rodney Sather of Tracyton, Wash., and Michael Sather of Port Orchard, Wash.

Mr. Sather was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospitality House.

Arrangements are by Chapel of the Angels Mortuary and Crematory, Grass Valley.
