Thelma Setzer

Thelma Nadine Setzer, 74, died Sunday, May 7, in Largo, Fla.

She will be interred with her husband, Joe, at New Elm Ridge Cemetery in Grass Valley at a later date.

Mrs. Setzer was born Feb. 11, 1932, in Claremont, N.C., to William and Carrie Edith (Baker) Epps. She married Joe C. Setzer on Nov. 27, 1948, in North Carolina. She retired from Sears Catalog Sales after 10 years. She moved to Grass Valley in 1960 and was a 40-year resident of Nevada County.



She is survived by her daughter, Jodine Noel of Grass Valley; sons and daughters-in-law Ed and Brenda Setzer of Clovis, N.M., and Joe Setzer Jr. and Darline Setzer of Troutman, N.C.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Joe Setzer, in 1997; and grandson, Eddie Setzer Jr.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Victory Junction Gang Camp, 4500 Adams Way, Randleman, N.C. 27317 or Hospice of the Foothills, 12399 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley, 95945.




Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
