The ‘transformative art’ of photographer Lisa Redfern

When seen through the eyes of an imaginative artist, the ever-fascinating elements of the natural world can create even more wonder. Having garnered multiple awards for her photography as well as original art, Nevada County artist, Lisa Redfern of Redfern Photography refers to her distinctive technique as “transformative art,” and a new showing of her work is debuting in Grass Valley this month.

The new show, “The Magic & Mystery of Dragonflies,” includes a special piece which features text and highlights the imagery and symbolism of the dragonfly in various cultures around the globe.
