The news: Tabloids returning to GV

The Tabloids return to Grass Valley this Saturday to sing about politics and socioeconomic issues.

The Bay Area band is fronted by Michael Robinson, a former newspaper reporter who picked up a Pulitzer Prize nomination in 1985 for his 1984 Democratic Party convention coverage in San Francisco when he was with The Examiner .

Robinson would rather tell his stories behind a guitar than through a newspaper. He quit his reporting career six years ago and formed a straight-up rock ‘n’ roll band with alternative nuances, The Tabloids.

The Tabloids perform at 8 p.m. at the Main Street Cafe and Bar, 215 W. Main St.

There’s no cover. Call 477-6000 with questions.
