The Hammer Smith Band has been on a roll

On Friday, they will play from their new CD, “New Tricks” – their first album in more than a decade.

They just returned from touring Colorado and performing for the Wyoming Blues & Jazz Society in May, where they “got a serious encore,” band member Chris Smith said.

They play at 8 p.m. Friday at The Blue Goose Theater, 3550 Taylor Rd., Loomis. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show starts at 7 p.m. with opening act Aisle 6, winner of the Auburn Band Competition 2008 .

For tickets, call (916) 652-8341; they also are on sale at Encore Music Auburn and all Dimples Record stores.
