Thanks to the fair

We want to offer our thanks and congratulations to the 17th District Agricultural Association, Nevada County Fair Board, and to Secretary/General Manager Ed Scofield and his wonderful staff, for allowing us to participate for the last eight years at the Fair with our Nevada County Heritage photo display. We have been blessed to have been given the opportunity to serve Nevada County in a way that nobody else has ever attempted. Without the Fair Board and Ed Scofield, many thousands of visitors to the Nevada County Fair would have been denied the ability to view several thousand heritage photos of our wonderful county.

Ed was instrumental in offering to allow us the spaces needed to display at the Fair and the Draft Horse Classic. This is Ed’s last year as Secretary and General Manger for the Fair, retiring at the end of 2008, and all the other events that he has sponsored during his many long years as the man in charge, and the one you could turn to for answers to one’s questions. We congratulate him for a job well done.

Before coming to the Fair, he also served as a Volunteer Firefighter with the Grass Valley Volunteer Fire Department, as a Council Member of the Grass Valley City Council and as a businessman working at Henderson’s Hardware on Mill Street in Grass Valley.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish him a fond farewell for jobs well done and to wish him good luck in his future retirement and his bid for a seat on the Nevada County Board of Supervisors.

Once again, thank you Ed, for your support to us and all the other organizations you have touched, and good luck in retirement and all your other future goals.
