Teresa Braden

A Rosary will be conducted for Teresa Braden of Peardale at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City, followed by a mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grass Valley.

Mrs. Braden died Tuesday, Jan. 4, at a local medical facility. She was 90.

She was born May 7, 1914, in West Frankfort, Ill., to John and Angelina Formento. She lived in Ivrea in the Piedmont region of Italy for 10 years, returning to the United States at the age of 17 to work as a seamstress in New Jersey and Detroit. She married Edward Braden on Jan. 31, 1948, in Hollywood, Calif.



The Bradens moved to Peardale in 1973, and Mrs. Braden was an active volunteer at St. Patrick’s, sewing for the church bazaar and preparing meals for seniors.

Mrs. Braden is survived by her daughter, Anna Braden of Grass Valley; sister Esther Zambruski, niece Janice Anderson, nephew Dan Zambruski, and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, in 1986.
