Telluride film fest offers 13 films from around the globe

This tour is now in its 28th year. Featuring the best selections from America’s premier festival of mountain, adventure, cultural and environmental film, “Telluride MOUNTAINFILM on Tour” plays tonight, 7 p.m., at the Del Oro Theater in Grass Valley as a benefit for the Nevada School of the Arts.

The program includes exhilarating and provocative works from around the world, all featured during what is a yearly alternative film festival in Telluride, Colo., which happens each year on Memorial Day weekend. Sustainable food choices, free-ride mountain biking, super-star kids doing jaw-dropping tricks, the global water crisis and ski bumming are just some of the subjects covered.

MOUNTAINFILM presenter Michael Moore (no, not that Michael Moore), will explain the 13 films, ranging from 1 to 26 minutes, that will cover more than two hours.
