Teens can explore health jobs at institute

The Exploring Careers in Health Summer Institute begins July 30.

The institute is free and open to the first 20 high school students who enroll and lunch is provided. Classes are held at both Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital and the Nevada County Superintendent of Schools office .

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for four days, students learn about careers in nursing, radiology, medicine, physical therapy, nutrition, pharmacy, emergency medicine, and epidemiology. Participants also earn certification in CPR and First Aid.
