Tech-savvy Buddhist monk gives talk Monday

A blogging Buddhist monk is visiting Grass Valley next week.

The abbot of Tibet’s Gaden Shartse Monastery is giving at free talk 7 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Cultural Center, 410 S. Church Street.

Khen Rinpoche Jangchup Choeden was hand-selected as abbot by the Dalai Lama to lead the administrative affairs of the monastery.



Fluent in five languages, including English, Choeden maintains a blog and Facebook page. His last visit to the area was in 2004.
