Suspected paint spill in drainage to Deer Creek

An unknown white cloudy substance was reported Thursday afternoon to be flowing in a drainage along Slate Creek Road in Grass Valley. The county’s Environmental Health Department officials responded to the incident and said they believed it to be paint, but were unable to confirm the source.

Since the drainage enters Deer Creek, officials will be contacting residents in the neighborhood to try and determine the source of the paint.

Officials also said that there was less than one gallon of paint and did not consider it to be a public health threat.
