Susie Oyung

Visitation for family and friends of Susie Sing Oyung of Grass Valley will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary. Memorial services will be conducted there at 3 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mrs. Oyung died Tuesday, Oct. 8, in Sunnyvale, at 92.

She was born Oct. 25, 1909, in Hong Kong to Mr. and Mrs. Lee Choy. She attended school for six years in Hong Kong. She married George Oyung Sr. on Oct. 3, 1944, at First Methodist Church in Grass Valley.



She was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking pasties and sewing.

She is survived by her sons Phillip Oyung and Carl Oyung, both of Grass Valley, Frank Oyung of Groveland, Clifford Oyung of Penryn, Walter Oyung of San Francisco and George Oyung Jr. of Chico; daughter, Rita Oyung of Sunnyvale; sister, Goo Joa of Hong Kong; and numerous grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991.




Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
