Susan Reese

Susan Jean Reese died Feb. 18 in Reno, Nev. She was 55.

A celebration of life will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, March 2, at Western Gateway Park in Penn Valley. It will be a potluck, and everyone is welcome to come and share great memories.

Ms. Reese was born in 1952 in San Diego to Frederick and Barbara Shaw. She attended Crawford High School and San Diego City College.



She always wanted to be a photographer and dabbled with it all her life.

Her love of her family was always first and foremost in her life.




She lived in Nevada County for 15 years and is remembered for her biscuits and gravy she served in the restaurants where she was employed.

Ms. Reese is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, William and Julie Jasper of Smartville; niece and nephew Erin and Travis Jasper and cousins Jeanne Stanislawski, Lynn Fisher, Jeanne Killian and Joey Stanislawski, all from Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Barbara Shaw, and aunt and uncle Jeanne and Charlie.
