— “The Evil Beans of Noom,” an original opera written and produced by sixth-graders at Nevada City School of the Arts, will be performed at Center for the Arts in Grass Valley. The opera features a fearful king, a mad scientist and a devious plot to gain world domination. Performances are at 7 p.m. Tickets $3 adults, $2 kids 12 and under. 273-7736.

— Nevada Union High School Choirs Spring Concerts take place at Don Baggett Theatre in Grass Valley, 7 p.m. The choirs will perform sacred and secular music. Doors open at 6 p.m. Admission $3. 273-4431 ext. 305.
