— Act!vated Storytellers, a national touring theatrical troupe, will appear at Madelyn Helling County Library in Nevada City, 7 p.m. The performance includes poems written by children from across the country, physical comedy and American Sign Language. Free. 265-1538.

— “Listening to the Wild” is an evening of poetry and prose honoring the wild nature in our world and ourselves at St. Joseph’s Cultural Center in Grass Valley, 7:30 p.m. Readers include Michelle Olsen, Jeff Kane, Kathryn Napier, Jordan Fisher Smith, Joanne Newsom, Tom Ogden, Susan Wooldridge, George Keithley, Laressa Dickey and Janaia Donaldson.
