Student’s story a testament to strength, determination

As an educator, I read the Learning section of The Union with interest. In the June 23 issue, I read a mother’s article about her daughter, Marianne Reisenweber. Thank you for writing about this very awesome young lady. I work at Nevada Union and know Marianne; what I thought about her was confirmed as I read the article. It is also was confirmation that when we want something bad enough, we will put our noses to the grinding stone and get the job done. Against surmountable odds, Marianne made a decision and tapped into her inner strength. This in itself is the most important lesson Marianne has experienced. She has learned the depth and scope of her own strength and determination and the confirmation was walking with her class on graduation day.

Congratulations to Marianne! And thank you, Connie, for recognizing the magnitude of your daughter’s efforts and sharing this story with the community. I will miss her next year, but never to worry, she’s going to do fine in life.
