Story on BriarPatch level-headed

The recent story in The Union regarding the BriarPatch Co-op was an accurate account of the situation there. Thank you for giving it a prominent place on the front page.

BriarPatch was built with hard work and sacrifice, not grandstanding and arguing. The time has come again for hard work and sacrifice to overcome the challenges of growth. Working conditions have never been better, and there is no evidence that the management has done anything inappropriate. I hope the community at large will forgive the few misguided and/or self-centered individuals on the board and in the work force who have insinuated that there has been wrongdoing.

Please patronize the BriarPatch. It strives to provide high quality, local products. It strives to preserve a world view that is circumspect and respectful of what is right and worth making sacrifices. I’m sure that in the future, it will continue to be a place that the founders would be proud of.
