Starz Show begins this weekend at The Center for the Arts

The fifth annual Starz Show at The Center for the Arts in Grass Valley will be as dazzling as ever, featuring more than 200 dancers and 20 organizations – including dance school students, amateur and professional performers – doing all kinds of dancing: hula, flamenco, salsa, interpretive and classical dance (as shown here with the Nevada City Ballet). One of Nevada County’s premier showcases for local talent, this is usually sold out, so get tickets early through the center’s box office, 530-274-8384, ext. 14 ($15 for adults and $12 for seniors 65 and over and children 12 and under). Each of the two weekends (Fridays and Saturdays, March 23, 24, 30, 31) will be different. All shows start at 7 p.m. Last year $2,000 was given to aspiring dancers as part of the show’s scholarship program. Visit http://www.thecenter for more information.
