‘Squeez-Box Swami’ to read at North Columbia Schoolhouse

“Hollywood Buddhism sizzles! Michael Attie knows his dharma, and understands shobiz, and he puts the two together in this profound, lighthearted and often touching book”

-Wes Nisker, author of “Crazy Crazy”

Book reading by the “Squeeze-Box Swami”

Michael Attie, known as the “Squeeze-Box Swami” because his presentations include accordian playing, will read from his book titled “Many Ways, Middle Ways, No Way – A Guide to Meditation, Spiritual Awakening and Fun” tonight at the North Columbia Schoolhouse Cultural Center on the San Juan Ridge.

As well as being a meditation teacher, Attie is a spiritual vaudevillian and dharma performance artist. He is remembered in Nevada County for “The Lingerie Zen Review,” which he presented several years ago at the same venue to a packed house. Others of his productions have included “The Zen Opera Show” and “The Buddha to Broadway Show.”

Admission is free for this 7 p.m. event at 17894 Tyler Foote Road. Attie will repeat his performance at the Wisdom Cafe, 426 Broad St., Nevada City, on May 4 at 6:30 p.m. Call 292-9154 for more information; go online at www. dontworryzendo.com for more about the monk/lingerie salesman.
