Sponsored obituary: Mark Davis

Memorial services for Mark Davis, a native of Grass Valley, but who resided and worked in San Diego, will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 19 at the Masonic Lodge in Mission Valley, California.

Mark passed away on Monday, March 13 at the San Diego Hospice and Palliative

Care Facility after a lengthy illness. He was 43.



Mark was born October 17, 1962 in Greenbrae, California to Irwin and Patricia Davis.

He attended Pleasant Ridge Elementary School, Magnolia Intermediate School, and graduated from Nevada Union High School. He received the prestigious Jim Brown Football award for the Most Valuable Player of the Year in 1979. Mark attended the University of the Pacific on a football scholarship. He also attended the University of California, Santa Barbara and graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Economics and Social Science.




Mark is lovingly survived by his parents, Irwin and Patricia Davis, sister and brother-in-law Theresa and David Lavagnino of Nevada City, nieces Janae and Briana Lavagnino of Nevada City, aunt Joan Fennone of Novato, California, cousin Maureen Thomas of San Rafael, California and many other cousins.

He will be remembered for his caring nature for those around him, his vivacious

personality, his contagious smile and his great ability to touch the lives and souls of so many people.

Rest in peace, Sweetheart, and know that God is holding you in His arms forever.
