Sponsored obituary: In memory of Jeremiah James

When you and I first met, I didn’t quite know what to say. And, now that you’re not here, I don’t really know what to say either. I know you’d find that funny for a man who talked nearly every minute in between.

Our paths together led from your first sleep-over, when you were just seven (you were so afraid of my dog, Bodhi – who became as much your best friend as mine),

through the age of 17, when you stood with me on the happiest day of my life. You were my friend, my teacher, my inspiration, my laughter, my buddy, and my chance to heal from a life without a dad of my own.

Life on earth is a fragile thing, my dear boy, as you know. But that life starts long before you get here and goes on long after you leave. Jer, you will always be loved. You will always have family. You will always be remembered. And, as long as stars shine in the heavens, you will never be alone.

Rest now.

Love, Your Stepdad, Brian.
