‘SPIRITFEST’ offers music, art at Friday’s benefit

Local musicians will play at Friday’s “SPIRITFEST,” a benefit at the Center for the Arts for the SPIRIT Mental Health Peer Empowerment Center. All proceeds will go toward the nonprofit SPIRIT Center in the Brunswick Basin, which offers no-cost counseling services and support.

Friday’s music acts include Spirit Drum Circle, Bodhi Busick and Travers Clifford, the Lisa Stine Trio, the Lorraine Gervais Trio, Paul Kamm and Eleanore MacDonald, Jukolin and Dakota Sid and the Badlands Serenaders.

In addition, a silent auction featuring paintings, drawings and sculpture created by area residents challenged by mental illness and by other artists who support them will open at 5 p.m. and close at 9 p.m.

“SPIRITFEST” runs from 5 to 11 p.m.

Admission is $20, which includes buffet snacks. Beverages, including beer and wine, will be sold.

The Center for the Arts is at 314 W. Main St. in Grass Valley.
