Special meeting tonight to discuss future of Sierra College president

A special meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in Rocklin to discuss the tenure of Sierra Community College president Kevin Ramirez, who has been asked by at least one Sierra College trustee to resign his post.

The meeting is a continuation of a meeting held Wednesday by the board of trustees to decide on the future of Ramirez, who has led the four-campus system for nearly 12 years.

Trustee Aaron Klein, who beat longtime incumbent David Parker in November for one of two Nevada County seats on the board, has called for the resignation of Ramirez because of Klein’s allegations of numerous campaign violations stemming from bond elections held in March and November 2004.
