‘Space Pandas’ closes NUHS Spring Festival this weekend

Nevada Union Theatre’s second annual Spring Festival of Plays draws to a close Friday and Saturday with “The Revenge of the Space Pandas.”

David Mamet’s whimsical spoof is about Binky Rudich, a young scientist; sidekick Vivian Mooster; and Bob, a sheep – all skyrocketed into space by Binky’s new invention. They land on Crestview, a planet inhabited by swooning lounge singers, dancing pandas and evil aliens.

Dusty Moore, recently seen in NUHS’s “Peter Pan,” directs. The cast includes Ryan Enright as Binky, Lori Caldwell as Vivian, Alex Bohnhoff as Bob, Abby Chroman as the alien leader, Sara Duarte as the retainer and Jared Moore as the Crestview matinee idol.

Other cast members are Amber Angulo, Ian Armacher, Chris Bisnar, Sarah Colwell, Natalie Gonzales, Sam Haley-Hill, Evan Hamilton, Gabe Pannell and Beth Segura.

The plays are at 7:30 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre on the NUHS campus, 11761 Ridge Road, Grass Valley.

Tickets are $6 at the Book Seller or available by calling 273-4431, ext. 301. NU students can purchase tickets during lunch periods in the student store.
