Something to talk about

A fundraiser for Conversations, an interview and information show that airs on KVMR 89.5 fm, will be held Saturday night at St. Joseph’s Cultural Center in Grass Valley.

The festival includes a potluck, barbecue, live music, raffle and dj Divine (aka show host Michael Stone). Children are invited.

Conversations, hosted by Stone since May 2006, airs on KVMR at noon on alternating Tuesdays.

“Conversations is not pabulum radio,”the program’s Web site reads. “The show is a much-desired counterpoint to the 91 percent conservative, and mostly negative programming, of weekday talk radio.

“The show moves beyond current mainstream reporting by featuring enlightened perspectives on the issues that matter to a well-educated and forward-thinking demographic.”

Upcoming guests include an entrepreneur, a Tibetan monk and an author and teacher.

Stone has spent most of his vocational life as a corporate organizational development consultant, communications specialist and leadership trainer.

His company is called Mastery of Management.
