So much for shopping locally |

So much for shopping locally

Three weeks ago, my 82-year-old mother needed a television. In trying to support or local economy, we went to a local appliance dealer and purchased a TV.

Last night, there was no picture, no sound, nothing. Any one of you that has an 82-year-old living alone knows how important their TV is. She immediately called the company and was told to call a repairman and use the warranty. Three weeks? Give me a break.

Of the three places I called, two would give her a new TV as long as she had her receipt and the third told me they would help in any way they could.

Now my mom sits alone with no TV and waits her turn for the only TV repairman in

town to show up. I, for one, will never buy any large purchase locally again. And you wonder why we drive “down the hill.” Lesson learned.
