So long sunshine: Rain expected this week

A series of wintry storms are expected to come into the area Monday and extend through most of the week. The National Weather Service is predicting rain by Monday night and is expecting potentially heavy snow accumulations above 3,300 feet.

As many as three feet of snow are expected to fall on the High Sierra by Wednesday. In lower elevations daytime highs are expected reach the mid-40s and bottom out in the low-30s throughout the week, with the chance for snow dropping below 3,000 feet.
