Tickets are still available for the Nevada City premiere of the 2005 Universal Pictures movie about snowboarding “First Descent” that will take place Tuesday evening at the Nevada Theatre.

A live exhibition, which will include professional snowboarders and members of the Nevada Union and Bear River High School teams, will be held in the Bonanza Market parking lot at 6:15 p.m.

The movie, meanwhile, will be shown at 4 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.

Besides the performance and movie, raffle prizes worth $5,000 will be given by Basich. The $12 movie ticket also includes raffle tickets and a free trial subscription to Transworld Snowboarding Magazine.

Tickets can be purchased at Riders Union in Colfax, Mountain Recreation and Good Times in Grass Valley and My Favorite Things and Maiden Lane in Nevada City.

The proceeds will be donated to the Nevada Union and Bear River snowboarding teams. Basich, a professional snowboarder, and Stu Wolfson, owner of Maiden Lane, are organizing the event.
