‘SiCKO’ inspires animated discussion

We are certainly blessed to have our diverse community here in Nevada County. This was evidenced by last week’s remarkable opening of Michael Moore’s new film “SiCKO,” provided by the Getz family at their theaters in Grass Valley – first for Wednesday’s Hospitality House benefit at the Del Oro and then for the film’s general opening at Sierra Cinemas on Friday.

Moore and his films have been controversial in the past, and it was clear that the response of our local audiences to his new film was not of a single mind. However, unlike reports from some other California communities, where a few problems arose from the movie’s opening, most noteworthy here were the numerous pods of folks clustered in animated discussion at the movie’s end.
