Shirley Yorks

Memorial services for Shirley I. Yorks of Grass Valley will be conducted at noon Saturday at the Grass Valley Elks Lodge.

Mrs. Yorks died Sunday, March 20, in Grass Valley. She was 72.

She was born Dec. 12, 1932, in San Francisco to James Esmon and Mildred (Lowery) McDonald. She married Russell E. Yorks on May 9, 1971, in Pacifica. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Elks Lodge in Grass Valley and of the Red Hat Society. She was an artist and baker.



She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Christine and Pat Kenny of Penn Valley, Vic and Corey White of Yuba City and Katie and Craig Sagala of Pollock Pines; son, George Kenny of Lower Lake; son and daughter-in-law, Lory and David Kenny of Grass Valley; daughter, Marlene Builio of Gridley; brother, Bob McDonald of Gridley; sisters Patricia Jones of Sacramento and Janet Gudgel of Washington; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell E. Yorks, in 2002.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
