Sherre Stoller Beisel died recently. She lived from 1940-2008.

Please join us for a celebration of life, 4 to 8 p.m., Sept. 15, at the Nevada County Fairgrounds, Gate 4. Bring a pot luck dish to share and non-alcoholic beverages, along with your stories and memories. All animals welcome, on leash. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and help us celebrate the life of “Every animals’ best friend.”

She founded Wee Wonders, a small dog rescue. She was a member of The Pony Express Club, and other horsemanship organizations as well as a CASA Volunteer.

In honor of her work, animals in need of a loving home will be available to meet you.

Nevada County launches grant program


On Tuesday, the Nevada County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved $2 million to launch a new “Community Resiliency Grants” program with funds from the American Rescue Plan Act, a news release states.
