Sharol Barnett

A celebration of life for Sharol Barnett of Grass Valley will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Nevada City Methodist Church.

Ms. Barnett died Thursday, Dec. 26, at home. She was 64.



She was born on April 19, 1938, in Los Angeles to Blaine E. “Bud” and Lorraine (Miles) Hutton. She worked as a key punch operator the majority of her life and then as a veterinary technician at the Grass Valley Veterinary Hospital. She helped rescue and protect animals. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, reading and genealogy.

She is survived by her sister, Valerie Santos of Grass Valley; brother, Ken Hutton of Carson City, Nev.; daughters Dawn Barnett of Nevada City, Terri Barnett of Auburn, and Kelli Barnett of Grass Valley; grandsons Shane Hurst of Nevada City and Alexander and Blaine Barnett of Grass Valley; one niece and six nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.




Contributions to help with the burial may be made to the Sharol L. Barnett Memorial Fund, Bank of America, Church and Neal streets in Grass Valley.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
