Shannon Marie

Shannon Lee Marie, 47, died Saturday, Oct. 5, at her mother’s home in Harbor, Ore.

Ms. Marie was born Aug. 6, 1955, in Long Beach to Hugh Flynn and Yvonne (Baker) Flynn. She was raised in Walnut Creek and graduated from Ygnacio Valley High School. She attended California State University at Chico and graduated with bachelor’s degrees in science and engineering. She had lived in Grass Valley for 19 years.

She was a civil engineer and senior consultant in road construction for Caltrans in Marysville.

She enjoyed animals and cared for wounded animals and found homes for displaced pets. She was a member of Defenders of Wildlife. She enjoyed quilting and needlework.

She is survived by her mother, Yvonne; and uncles Dr. Bill Baker of Sarasota, Fla., and John Flynn of New York City. She was preceded in death by her father and brother, Michael Patrick Flynn.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Redwood Memorial Chapel in Brookings, Ore.
