Sewage spill corrupts creek

An estimated 10,000 gallons of partially treated sewage spilled into Deer Creek below Lake Wildwood Tuesday morning when a chlorine treatment unit failed.

Officials from the Nevada County Department of Environmental Health advised residents to avoid contact with the creek for at least 7 days.
