Services to be held for Janice Scott

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. May 23 at Sierra Memorial Lawn, Nevada City, for Janice V. Scott. Services will be officiated by the Rev. Andy Owens.

Mrs. Scott passed away on May 19 in Grass Valley. She was 88.

Mrs. Scott was born on Jan. 21, 1919, in San Diego to Richard Martin and Abigail Swischer. She obtained a bachelor of science degree.



She married Melvin L. Scott on May 15, 1941. She was an registered at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena and at Odd Fellows and Rebekah Home in Campbell, Calif.

Mrs. Scott was a member of the Eastern Star and Rebekah Lodge. Her hobbies included knitting, reading and bunco.




She is survived by her children Elisha and Tim Scott, of South Lake Tahoe; Ann and David Scott, of Los Angeles; Melinda Anderson, of Grass Valley; and grandchildren Michelle and Mike Bria, of El Dorado Hills, Tracie and Chad Munn, of Tucson, Ariz., and Liv Scott, a student at UCSB. Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband Melvin L. Scott in 1960; brothers Dick and Fred; and sister Doris.
