Sending the devil back: Film about Liberia

Brave and visionary women who demanded peace for Liberia are portrayed in the documentary, “Pray the Devil Back to Hell,” screening Sunday in Grass Valley.

This documentary by Abigail E. Disney and Gini Reticker uses contemporary interviews, archival images and scenes from present-day Liberia to recount the experiences of women who were instrumental in bringing lasting peace to their country after decades of civil war.

It’s at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, at Unity in the Gold Country, 180 Cambridge Court., in the Whispering Pines business area between Idaho-Maryland and Brunswick roads.

A $7 donation is asked, but no one will be turned away. The film is not suitable for children.
