See Jane Do to host Soiree Into Action

KVMR talk program and Union columnists See Jane Do will host a Soiree Into Action from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday to acknowledge the importance of progressive women candidates, elected officials, community leaders, and the work of The White House Project.

See Jane Do was recently invited to partner with The White House Project (a non-partisan, non-profit organization that trains women to take the lead and run for office and founded by Marie Wilson) on its annual EPIC Awards, April 7, in New York City.

The EPIC Awards is The White House project’s annual celebration of women’s leadership in the media and in popular culture. Leading figures in film and television, theater and advertising gather to honor a select group of extraordinary individuals. Past honorees include Kristin Chenoweth, Geena Davis, Eve Ensler, and Melissa Etheridge.

Thursday night’s Soiree Into Action is also a fundraiser to help See Jane Do with travel costs. Join See Jane Do for wine, music and a silent auction and hear from local representatives such as Nevada City Mayor Reinette Senum and Nevada City Councilwoman Sally Harris. The soiree will be at Nevada City Winery, 321 Spring St., Nevada City. There is a $10 suggested donation; $20 includes a See Jane Do T-shirt.
