Sedan sideswipes school bus

Police is on the lookout for a gold 4-door sedan that sideswiped a school bus on Monday.

At about 3:55 p.m. on Monday, March 12, a school bus with eight children ” 9 to 11 years of age ” was traveling south bound on South Auburn Street. As the bus turned on Empire Street, a gold 4-door sedan driven by an elderly man attempted to pass the bus on the right side. The bus driver, seeing the sedan, stopped, but the sedan sideswiped the bus, trying to make room to pass it.

After the impact, the sedan fled the scene. No one on the bus was injured.

The California Highway Patrol is looking for a gold sedan with damage on its left side. If anyone witnessed the collision or knows the vehicle, please contact CHP Grass Valley at 273-4415.
