Secretions, Man O’Malleys in cancer benefit

The Secretions, the Man O’Malleys and a few other local bands will play in a benefit Saturday at the Center for the Arts in downtown Grass Valley.

The concert is sponsored by Linnea Johnston, a 35-year-old mother and two-year breast cancer survivor. Johnston wants to raise awareness of breast cancer in young women and raise funds for the Celebration of Life Triathlon benefiting the Barbara Schmidt Millar Memorial Fund through the Breast Imaging Center in Grass Valley.

A portion of the funds raised will also go to the Young Survival Coalition, an online support group for breast cancer survivors under the age of 40.

The concert begins at 8 p.m. Admission is $8 at the door.

The Center for the Arts is at 314 W. Main St. in Grass Valley.
