Second anti-violence show Friday in GV

Four groups will perform in the second annual “Rock against Violence” concert Friday at Center for the Arts.

Uncle Scam, The Man O’Malley’s, Pocket for Corduroy and Pipedown play 6:30 to 11 p.m.

Sponsored by the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Coalition, the show honors Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

“All of the bands have pledged to eliminate from their music messages that condone or glorify violence and sexual degradation,” said Mariko Yoshioka, the coalition’s prevention coordinator.

Several area agencies will set up information booths.

Admission is $6 for all ages at the door. Snacks, coffee and juice will be sold.

The center is at 314 W. Main St., Grass Valley. Call 272-2046 for more information.
